Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. MFL Painting is a licensed California contractor — CSLB License #1116782, C-33 Painting & Decorating classification. We carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance on every job, and we'll provide a certificate of insurance on request.
What areas do you serve?
We specialize in San Diego County — from Chula Vista and the South Bay up through Downtown, La Jolla, Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe, and the North County coastal cities (Carlsbad, Encinitas, Oceanside). We also run crews into Orange County and Los Angeles for investor portfolios and commercial accounts. If you're in Southern California, we can quote your job.
Do you do interior and exterior?
Both. Interior repaints (walls, ceilings, trim, doors, cabinets), exterior repaints (stucco, wood siding, fascia, garage doors), and cabinet refinishing as a stand-alone service. For investor flips we typically do interior + exterior on the same mobilize.
How fast can I get an estimate?
For most jobs we can return a written estimate within 24–48 hours of a walkthrough. For commercial bids and multi-unit packages we typically deliver inside a week. Call (619) 997-0165 or book a free estimate online to get started.
Do you work on investor flips and rental turnovers?
A big share of our work is investor flips, multi-unit turnover, and pre-listing repaints. We move fast, hit your timeline, and bill clean. Ask us about portfolio pricing if you have multiple properties or a steady pipeline.
What products do you use?
Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore are our primary product lines for interiors. For exteriors we spec product to the substrate — elastomeric on stucco, acrylic on wood, DTM on metal. Low-VOC and zero-VOC available on request.
Do you do cabinet refinishing?
Yes — it's one of the highest-value services we offer. We pull doors and drawers to spray off-site for a factory-clean finish, prep and finish the boxes on site, and reinstall when fully cured. Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane and Benjamin Moore Advance are our go-tos. Most kitchens take 5–7 working days.
Can you match an existing color?
Yes. For HOA work and high-end residential we color-match on site with a spectrophotometer to match aged paint exactly. For simple matches we bring sample boards and brush-outs before committing.
How long have you been in business?
JJ and the crew have 15+ years of painting experience across Southern California. MFL Painting itself was established in 2024 to bring that experience under one roof. JJ runs the day-to-day and is on most job sites at some point during the week.
